Luis Buñuel – ‘Film seems to be the involuntary imitation of the dream.’
FILLETS is a reaction to the limited logic of our conscious reality, redefining our awareness of the familiar and extracting its queerness. It is a tangible presentation of the suppressed sexual subtext of our current society, and a promotion of the pleasures of carelessness and the carnivalesque. Through the seemingly absurd yet familiar logic and sequencing of dreams, the film explores the volatile surfacing of unconscious desire.
In a seven-minute dream sequence, six babies are born and consumed; the non-linear narrative continuously blurs, dislocates and dissolves between dream and reality.
